Colorado Adventure Guides is thrilled to offer our Youth Mountain Biking Camp this Summer! Our camp will consist of half-day (4 hour) sessions spanning one week in length (M-F). Throughout the duration of the camp instructors will help participants practice fundamentals of mountain biking such as bike and body positioning, shifting, braking, steering, climbing, descending and more, but ultimately a goal of having FUN!

Youth Mountain Biking Camp
Learn skills, ride bikes, have fun!

This youth mountain biking camp will consist of a hybrid of skills sessions and on-trail application to help kids develop a solid foundation of skills to take with them on the rest of their mountain biking journey. This camp will be held in and throughout the Summit County area with common areas being around the Town of Breckenridge and the Frisco Peninsula Trail System. Topics will include but not be limited to bike/body positioning, braking, gear shifting, climbing and descending techniques, and more! All participants should feel comfortable riding a bike and be familiar with braking and steering.

Our Youth Mountain Biking Camp is a week long camp (M-F) with an AM and PM session each day. AM sessions will be for riders ages 6-9 years old, PM sessions will be for riders ages 10-13 years old.

Prerequisites: All participants should feel comfortable riding a bike and be familiar with braking and steering. Please see the following equipment list below;

  • Functional bike with gears – bikes must be at least 20” and have front and rear brakes, and gears. (no training wheels)
  • Helmet
  • Small backpack
  • Bike gloves, elbow, and knee pads – must be worn at all times when participants are on their bikes
  • Close-toed shoes
  • Adequate water (recommend at least 2L) and plenty of snacks

Here at Colorado Adventure Guides our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment where kids can meet other kids to ride and have fun with! Kids learn best when they’re supported, encouraged, and also inspiring each other! We want to make sure to instill in them a passion that can lead them to into a lifelong journey with mountain biking. Our goal is to help each child learn and improve their skills in mountain biking, safety, and having fun in doing so. We also encourage and strive to open up their world for exploration, confidence, and respect for our mountains, trails, and natural landscape.

Reschedule/Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be honored for cancellations more than 14 DAYS PRIOR to a course or a camp start time. An administrative fee of 10% will be assessed for all cancellations.

Rescheduling will be honored 14 days prior to course/camp start date. An administrative fee of 10% will be assessed for all rescheduling. This allows us the time to contact those who have been put on the wait-list.

In case of operator cancellation due to adverse or unsafe conditions prior to start time, first the operator will attempt to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, the client will receive a full refund. Operator, including guides in the field, reserve the right to shorten or reroute activity in the case of unmanageable hazards or inability of guest to complete the objective.

Frequently Asked Questions

How physically fit do I need to be for this course?

Colorado Adventure Guides is priority is keeping our patrons and students safe. Our instructors are trained to recognize potentially hazardous situations in the backcountry; they plan and operate accordingly. All information submitted is completely confidential; it is for the guide’s use and would only be shared in the event of an emergency with medical and/or rescue personnel directly caring for the participant. This can be a physically demanding camp, and your child’s ability to enjoy the adventure depends on their health and fitness, thus it’s recommended that they are in good physical condition.

What if I would like to book a private group course?

For those who would like to select all the members of the group, you may book a private group camp or instructional day(s). If you are interested, please let us know!

When and how do I meet up with the group?

The instructor will contact you at least 1 week prior to the course to discuss meeting time and location. Location varies based on camp date, number of students, weather, and trail conditions.

Should I tip my instructor?

Your instructors work hard before, during, and after your course to provide you with a great experience and while not expected, gratuities are always highly appreciated and if you had a safe, educational, and fun experience. Gratuities typically range from 15-20%.
