Escape the resort crowds by earning your turns on a backcountry splitboarding adventure in Colorado’s Summit County. Backcountry splitboarding provides the opportunity to extend your season and experience something few snowboarders ever will, floating through powder in solitude. Traverse a high alpine ridgeline to a snow-covered summit—maybe even 14,265 ft Quandary Peak—and ride back to where you started. Colorado Adventure Guides’ professionally trained guides have your back. We scout out the best conditions and assess avalanche danger and other potentially dangerous conditions that may not be visible to the untrained eye.
Not an expert snowboarder? Never ridden in the backcountry? No problem! If you can ride Vail’s back bowls, you can ride in our backcountry. Our experienced and professional guides will teach uphill and downhill technique, risk management, and talk you through decision-making in the backcountry. Bring your own gear or take advantage of our rental packages to get fully equipped with a splitboard, bindings, avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe.
