Youth Mountain Bike Camps

Age’s 7-14 ~ Breckenridge, CO

Fun and engaging youth mountain bike camps taught by local, certified mountain bike instructors on some of the best trails Summit County has to offer.

With amazing access to National Forest trails throughout Summit County, as well as, the Town of Breckenridge trail system, our Youth Mountain Bike Skills Camps are designed to inspire a new generation of mountain bikers with the goal of sharing our love of riding in a safe and fun learning environment.

In these camps, our professional instructors will teach technique and fundamentals which form the base for more specific “on trail” skills.  We will start out on a flat, grassy surface where we will teach and practice all of the fundamentals.  Once riders have exhibited an understanding of the fundamentals, we’ll “take it to the trail” where we’ll begin to apply basic techniques to our riding.

The youth program will focus on teaching proper Trail Etiquette, the most important and fragile parts of the bike, fundamentals, basic technique and skills, and more.  At the end of the day, it’s really all about having fun riding bikes!

In this course, riders will learn, practice, and hone the following skills:

  • Pre-ride bike inspection
  • Mountain biking trail etiquette
  • Body Position
  • Braking
  • Shifting
  • Foot position
  • Bike/body separation
  • Tight turns
  • Climbing Technique
  • Cornering

CAG recommends flat pedals for all beginner instruction.

Minimum 24″ wheel size required.

All youth riders must be able to show competency in pedaling, steering, and braking to attend this clinic.

All youth riders need to have their own equipment.  CAG does not provide bikes, helmets, or any other biking equipment.
