Wheeler National Recreation Trail
The Wheeler Trail begins in the Town of Blue River to the south of Breckenridge and traverses the Ten Mile Range at Wheeler Pass (12,408ft) between Peak 8 and 9 and descending to Copper Junction. This 9 mile trail can be done as an out-and-back, a shuttled point-to-point, or a multi-trail link-up. The trail passes through spruce forests and climbs into the alpine tundra for wildflower viewing and amazing views of Breckenridge, the Gore Range, the Front Range, Copper Mountain, and beyond. It can also be linked with other area trails to connect mountain lakes with mountain passes depending on your fitness level and desires. Choose your own adventure!
