1-Day AIARE

Many students finish their AIARE 1 courses motivated to practice their skills and continue learning, just as their instructors recommended. But for many, these plans get delayed or sidetracked, leaving them without opportunities to reinforce what they learned. Most aren’t ready for AIARE 2, and AIARE Rescue doesn’t always give them a chance to practice the core skills from Level 1.

The AIARE 1 Refresher Course is designed to keep students engaged after Level 1 or Rescue courses, especially if Level 2 isn’t the right next step. This one-day, affordable course gives students a chance to review and strengthen the essential skills and knowledge from their AIARE 1 experience.

• Review components of the 3-day AIARE 1 Course
• Practice all aspects of the AIARE framework (PREPARE, PLAN, RIDE SAFELY, TEAMWORK, DEBRIEF) in the field, with coaching and mentorship from an AIARE-qualified instructor
• Practice avalanche rescue
• Develop plan for continuing education

The AIARE Avalanche Refresher Course is designed for individuals or groups who have previously completed an AIARE 1 or A3 (American Avalanche Association) course.

This course is perfect for those looking to review critical avalanche skills, refresh decision-making strategies, and reinforce safe backcountry practices before heading into the mountains again.
