Rock Climbing Tours

Half Day & Full Day Rock Climbing Tours

From beginners touching rock for the first time to advanced climbers seeking expert instruction, book a full day or half day trip in the mountains of Summit County for some fun out on the rocks. Individuals, couples, families, and children, beginner to advanced, we have the trip for you. We provide complimentary climbing specific gear, including helmets, harnesses and shoes. Choose from the half-day or full-day options to book your adventure today!

Details

Difficulty:   No experience necessary. From novice to advanced, we have climbs for kids, families, and climbers of all experience levels.

 Duration: Half Day (3-5 hours), Full Day (6-8 hours)

Guides: 1 guide for every 6 guests

Meeting Time: 8:00am for full day tours. 8am or 1pm for half day tours

What We Provide: All climbing gear provided by Colorado Adventure Guides and Petzl

Intro to Rock Climbing

Beginner Rock Climbing Course

Experience a full day of rock climbing in the mountains of Summit County with a course designed for novice adventurers seeking a structured day of learning and fun out on the rocks. Instead of simply sending you up on a top rope, our certified guides progress the group through a curriculum designed to give clients the knowledge and skills required to navigate the often intimidating activity of rock climbing. The Intro to Rock Climbing Course will provide you with a foundation of outdoor climbing basics while leaving plenty of time to actually climb.

Enhance your rock climbing game with a course designed to teach anchor building in an outdoor environment. This 1 Day curriculum is aimed at those with a basic understanding and experience with top rope climbing, either outdoors or in the gym.

Our certified guides will take you through the process of building top-rope anchors and multi pitch anchors utilizing a variety of methods, with the goal of leaving you feeling confident in your ability to setup your own systems.

Multi Pitch Climbing Course

Learn multi pitch climbing techniques

The 2-day Multi Pitch Climbing Course is for climbers who have lead-climbing experience and are looking to tackle larger objectives. Instructors will build on existing skills and techniques, with the expressed purpose of linking multiple pitches of climbing together. Anchor building, rope management, top-managed belays, and advanced rappelling techniques will be emphasized in order to equip students with the tools they need to climb higher. This course will be taught in a single-pitch setting so that students have time to learn and practice in a controlled setting before committing to a multi-pitch route.

Unless otherwise noted for courses there is no experience necessary. From novice to advanced, we have climbs for kids, families, and climbers of all experience levels.

Reschedule/Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be honored for cancellations more than 14 DAYS PRIOR to a course start time and 48 hours for guided tours. An administrative fee of 10% will be assessed for all cancellations.

All activities are Rain or Shine. In case of operator cancellation due to adverse or unsafe conditions prior to start time, first the operator will attempt to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, the client will receive a full refund. Operator, including guides in the field, reserve the right to shorten or reroute activity in the case of unmanageable hazards or inability of guest to complete the objective. Completion of objective-based routes is not guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How physically fit do I need to be for this activity?

Colorado Adventure Guides is priority is keeping our patrons and students safe. Our guides and instructors are trained to recognize potentially hazardous situations in the backcountry; they plan and operate accordingly. Prior to the start of any course or backcountry trip you will be asked to complete a brief health history. The failure to disclose pertinent information on the health history form could result in serious harm, even death, to the signing participant, other guests and/or the guide. All information submitted is completely confidential; it is for the guide’s use and would only be shared in the event of an emergency with medical and/or rescue personnel directly caring for the guest. Your ability to enjoy the adventure depends on your health and fitness, thus it’s recommended that you are in good physical condition.

What if I would like to book a private group course?

All of our guided rock climbing trips are booked private and custom and priced accordingly. If you are looking for a group trip option please check out our Rock Climbing Courses or contact us to see if we have any group trips available on the schedule. You may book a private group course, subject to availability. If you are interested, please let us know!

When and how do I meet up with the guide?

Your guide or instructor will contact you at least 48 hours prior to your activity start date to finalize details regarding meeting location and time.

Should I trip my guide/instructor?

Your guide/instructors work hard before, during, and after your course to provide you with a great experience and while not expected, gratuities are always highly appreciated and if you had a safe, educational, and fun experience. Gratuities typically range from 15-20%.
