Hiker’s paradise: a summer hut trip dream

Spend four days of quality time at Francie’s Cabin! One of Colorado’s most iconic alpine huts designed for families and groups who want real time together in the mountains, without the logistics of backpacking or a technical expedition.

At 11,264 feet, surrounded by peaks, lakes, and open alpine terrain just outside Breckenridge, this is a true mountain basecamp retreat where everything is taken care of once you hit the trail.

Your guides handle the hiking routes, meals, and planning so your group can focus on being together. Of course, we won’t mind your help in the kitchen!

During the days, hikes and outings will be tailored to the needs and wants of your group. From kid friendly wildflowers and scenery to challenging climbs and peak ascents, this trip will prove to be a memory shared with loved ones for life.

GUIDED HIKING DAYS

A hike for every age and ability

Each day of outings from your backcountry hut is tailored to the energy and ability of your group- whether that’s a family with kids 12+, a multi-generational trip, a group of friends, or an occasion like a bachelor/bachelorette party.

Routes may include easy alpine walks to Crystal Lakes, scenic loops through the basin, or a full summit day on Crystal Peak (13,852 feet) depending on conditions and interest.

We keep things flexible so everyone stays comfortable and has a fun day exploring the mountains.

TIME AT YOUR SUMMER HUT

A shared space in the mountains

Afternoons and evenings are spent back at the cabin together- cooking, eating, and unwinding as a group. Your guides are there throughout the experience, helping with meals, logistics, and flow of the day so the trip stays fun for the group.

There’s time for kids to explore, adults to unwind, and everyone to reset between hikes. A book or journal would be a good companion here.
